Dirt Red runs two ensembles which meet weekly on Friday afternoons in Logan 703 and are open to all instruments (including voice):

Big Group - 4:00pm to 4:50pm - Anyone can come! Big Group is a weekly workshop/jam for all skill levels. Big Group focuses learning New Orleans music and building group improvisation skills. Big Group performs about once per quarter. Because each week we do something new, anyone is encouraged to come whenever any week that they can. Join the listhost or Facebook group for more updates:

Dirt Red Brass Band (Small Group), 5:15pm to 6:30pm: Auditions are held at the beginning of the school year (October). Small Group focuses on building a large repertoire of traditional jazz and popular music. Small Group performs 3 or 4 times per quarter. 

At the moment, the Dirt Red Brass Band consists of three trumpets, two trombones, one euphonium, two alto saxes, one tenor sax, and one bari sax, one guitar, a crooner, one fiddle, half a keyboard, and 3/4 of a drum kit. We will gladly play your party for hire, or crash your party for kicks.
