Euphoria Brass Band was established in San Diego in early 2011. Loving the old school New Orleans traditional brass band jazz and street beats, new school brass band edginess with a West Coast feeling, two longtime New Orleanians Ron Bocian (snare drum) and David Bandrowski (guitar/banjo) yearned to build a New Orleans style brass band on the West Coast. The idea came to fruition when they approached KSDS Jazz 88.3’s “Second Line Parade” host Drew Miller (bass drum) with the idea. Drew was acquainted with some of San Diego’s top horn players, soon Euphoria Brass Band was born. EBB boasts a top shelf horn section: JP Balmat (clarinet, alto and baritone sax, composer), Steve Ebner (trumpeter), April West (trombone), Dave Jackson (tenor sax),and sousaphonist 'Tuba' Wayne Rice holding down the bottom. With reverence to tradition while bringing the unique multi-layered modern street sounds of New Orleans and letting the Southern California vibe shine through, Euphoria Brass Band is a unique and exciting musical force in Southern California! Look for their third release of mostly original music coming in time for Mardi Gras 2014!

Euphoria Brass Band is a San Diego based musical collective that serves up a contemporary mix of old school New Orleans traditional brass band jazz, funky street beats and new school edginess with a West Coast feeling! 

EBB was created in 2011 by two New Orleans transplants, Ron Bocian and David Bandrowski and local jazz radio DJ, Drew Miller. They quickly assembled a top notch, hard-hitting horn section: Steve Ebner (trumpet), April West (trombone), David Jackson (tenor sax), JP Balmat (baritone & alto sax, clarinet) and Wayne Rice (sousaphone).

Embracing the exciting spirit of improvisation with a hard funk edge, Euphoria Brass Band has become known for their incendiary high energy shows…. guaranteed to get a crowd smiling, dancing and having a good time. EBB always leaves ‘em wanting more! 

In the short time they have been together, EBB has quickly become a Southern California favorite, playing many high profile music venues, festivals, parades, corporate events and weddings.

Euphoria Brass Band has had the honor of sharing the stage with some of New Orleans music’s royalty: Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Trombone Shorty, Funky Meters, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Honey Island Swamp Band, Rosie Ledet among others. 

In 2012 they released their first CD “Coast To Coast” which was nominated for a San Diego Music Award. 2013 saw a second release called “In Step With Tradition” and a nomination for “Best Jazz Artist”. Both releases found National radio airplay on stations like San Diego’s KSDS Jazz 88.3 fm and New Orleans WWOZ. Their highly anticipated third release, “EBB & Flow” just hit the streets and this one really burns!
