Hawk Green Brass Band
We are Hawk Green Brass Band a group of amateur musicians who from a traditional brass band. We are drawn from all walks of life and join together to make music for the benefit of the local community and our own enjoyment.
The Hawk Green Band was originally formed in 1982 as a junior feeder band to The Marple Band and was known first as Marple Brass and then as Marple 'B' Band. In 1986 it started to compete in contests, having its first win at the Pilkington Northern Open Contest in St. Helens in 1988. In 1997 the band took its current name of Hawk Green (Marple) Band. The band is currently in the Fourth Section, North West Area.
We rehearse at the Cricket Club in Hawk Green, a small village just outside Marple. Rehearsals take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays (8pm-10pm)
